Promises, Promises, by Amber Miller

Congratulations to Amber Miller, on her wonderful debut novel, Promises, Promises (Heartsong PresentsBarbour Publishing). If you enjoy a good historical/Romance novel, then you don’t want to miss this one. Set in colonial Delaware, this novel is filled with rich detail, delightful characters and a story that will draw you in by the heartstrings.

The second book in the series, Quills and Promises, released this month, and the third installment, Deceptive Promises, is scheduled for release in December 2008. I whole-heartedly recommend you go straight out and buy a copy. You won’t be sorry!

From The Back Cover

Raelene Strattford knows God has promised never to leave or forsake her. But after the catastrophic deaths of her parents, she doesn’t believe it. What kind of God would take a girl's family and leave her alone in a wild land where women have no voice?

Gustaf Hanssen has admired Raelene from afar for a while, but his poor attempt at courting her in the past has made him unwelcome in her life. When Gustaf promises Raelene's dying father that he will take care of her, he finds himself bound to her happiness, her success, and her well-being in ways he never imagined.

To keep his word must Gustaf really oversee all of Raelene's affairs, find her a husband, and maintain her farm, while she does nothing but scorn him? Can God reach through Raelene's pain and self-centeredness and give her the love that awaits, if only she will accept His will?

I'm a romantic and also a bit stubborn to boot, so this sounds like a fun book.

Thanks, David, for spotlighting my books here today. I loved your review and your recommendation to buy. Every bit of extra publicity and promotion helps, and it's greatly appreciated.

Rulan, you sound like me. :) I suppose you could say the stubborness in my characters was rather easy to write. LOL!

Feel free to drop me a line if you end up reading the books.
